The common thread in my working life is the management of projects and programs. Since 2010 I have deepened my understanding and skills in the field of sustainability. During this period I learned first-hand what it takes to lead change and to achieve sustainable progress. A key aspect is bringing together stakeholders across the value chain and developing a shared strategy that can inspire and guide action. Equally important is “translating” rather abstract sustainability topics into practical solutions with solid business cases. Managing these transitions is a great source of inspiration and brings out the best in me. Working for PRé offers me the opportunity to contribute in a more profound way to building a sustainable future.

At PRé Bas focuses on making robust LCA results available and understandable for non-LCA experts. He supports a wide range of organizations with implementing and understanding sustainable metrics.

Bas has worked as the European Sustainability Manager for a global paints company. He was leading multi-disciplinary projects with a focus on product environmental sustainability. This helped Bas to develop an in-depth understanding of how companies can integrate sustainability in their core activities. More recently he worked as Program Manager for a not for profit organization designing approaches to make agro-commodity value chains more sustainable and delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals.

He has been a member of several external stakeholder groups such as the European Paint Association and PEF Technical Secretariat for Paint pilot.

Bas has an MSc in Sustainability from Ashridge Business School, UK and a Bachelor in International Management from the University of Applied Science, Amsterdam. He has extensive experience in managing, international multi-stakeholder projects across multiple sectors (building materials, food products and agro-commodity value chains).

His areas of expertise include sustainable business performance and product environmental assessment, communication and optimization.
