Do you have experience at the intersection of life cycle assessment (LCA) and programming? Do you find it a challenge to help us take our LCA software to the next level? Are you the Developer with the ambition to work for an international company with a team from diverse backgrounds? This might be the right opportunity for you.

At PRé we believe that we have to change the way life cycle information is generated and made available. There are billions of products and only a few thousand life cycle assessment (LCA) experts. To leverage the knowledge and expertise that is captured in models and data we have to work smarter and use technology to its full potential. Making simplified tools is simply not enough. Easy to use tools that can generate results in huge volumes have to be connected to robust LCA calculation engines that ensure the underlying models are transparent and science-based. For that reason, we developed SimaPro as a cloud-based platform, so data can be connected and shared much more easily.

We have built a software team with experts from different backgrounds, including Artificial Intelligence and Design. This combination of talented people is key to building innovative and useful software. In the next years, we plan to extend the capabilities of our SaaS platform. So far we have worked on making data management and exchange less cumbersome, increasing the core functionalities of the LCA calculation engine, extending the scenario modules to meet the needs of non LCA experts, increasing the reporting capabilities and streamlining data collection. Those modules are the backbone of the next generation LCA infrastructure that will enable footprinting at an unprecedented scale. The platform will also connect other tools and systems in a broader IT-ecosystem to scale up the use of LCA by decision-makers around the world.

And that is where you come in! As an LCA Software developer you will be working with state-of-the-art technology on various modules of the platform. We are looking for a developer that can drive this development and work on solving some of the most pressing barriers in the advancement of LCA.

Does this sound like your next challenge? We are looking for an LCA Software Developer (80-100%), preferably starting on 1 February 2021.
