Construction

Building a sustainable future

The construction industry is one of the frontrunners when it comes to information about environmental impact. This is driven by regulations, but also by customer demand for sustainable construction. There are many sustainability standards in the construction sector, such as EN15804, EN15978, LEED and BREEAM, and new requirements are constantly being set at national or regional level. As a result, many construction companies provide Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) or life cycle assessments (LCAs) for their products or buildings.

Streamline your sustainability activities

To do this, construction companies need to have a robust foundation in sustainability, since the various standards each have their own information and formatting requirements. In addition to doing individual studies for companies, PRé helps sustainability-minded construction companies and sector organizations to streamline the process for doing EPDs, LCAs and other environmental impact analyses. For example, we developed the LINA tool in collaboration with the global sector organization BRE. We also helped create tools to streamline EPD creation and data collection. We believe that automation of these processes is key for a sustainable construction sector to arise, because that will allow companies to work efficiently while keeping sustainability at the heart of their activities.
