Introducing SimaPro Synergy: empowering sustainable practices at scale

Back in 2015, we built the SimaPro online calculation engine and in the following years we used APIs to integrate LCA into other web tools. During one of our first integration projects, we worked with Zuivel NL and FrieslandCampina to enrich the online KringloopWijzer tool with environmental data calculated by SimaPro. This made it possible for over 16,000 dairy farmers to independently calculate their greenhouse gas emissions in real time.

Since then, we’ve worked with inspiring clients and partners on many innovative projects that make SimaPro the beating heart of various sustainability tools. Together, we have:

• enabled more transparency in the textile industry
• empowered biodiversity assessment of financial products
• brought the footwear sector one step closer to sustainability
• made environmental footprint data available during product design  
• and raised awareness among farmers on the environmental implications of fertilizers

These experiences led us to the new product we’re excited to announce: SimaPro Synergy.

SimaPro Synergy is our newest addition to the SimaPro lineup, empowering sustainable practices at scale. With the introduction of our new online platform, we decided to rename our trusted SimaPro desktop software to SimaPro Craft. This change clarifies our product lineup, which includes the two distinct solutions within the SimaPro family.

The new name embodies our belief that robust, science-backed life cycle assessments are a true craft, which requiresattention to detail, a high level of expertise and a commitment to quality. We know LCA practitioners as skilled craftspeople who dedicate their passion and expertise to their work, producing detailed, reliable environmental insights for positive change.
